YouTube Content ID Policy

This policy explains how Productiontrax.com interacts with the YouTube Content ID system, and the role our contributors play in Content ID claims. This policy is applicable to any copyright owner, composer, or content contributor (hereinafter referred to as “you”) who uses our service, and outlines your responsibilities in the event of a Content ID claim.

Background
The YouTube Content ID system was designed to help content owners to easily identify and manage the use of their content on YouTube. The tool gives composers and copyright owners great control over who can and cannot use their work. When content in a YouTube video matches a copyright owner’s work, a claim is created on the video.

The Productiontrax.com commercial license allows for use in video projects, including ad-free use on video streaming services such as YouTube. Because Content ID claims interfere with our clients’ ability to exploit their completed projects commercially, these types of copyright claims can have a lasting, negative effect on our relationship with our clients, and ultimately result in a loss of business and reputation.

Productiontrax.com does not submit reference media to the Content ID system, and does not employ technology for removing or preventing Content ID claims. Similarly, we do not otherwise re-license, re-title, or submit your content to third parties who may use the Content ID system.

Composer Responsibility
The YouTube Content ID system can be used only by individuals and companies that have exclusive rights to the material being used. Therefore, it is your sole responsibility as a copyright owner to ensure that your music is being properly identified and managed by libraries who may participate in the YouTube Content ID system.

If you or other libraries you work with participate in YouTube Content ID, you warrant that you are able to resolve and clear any and all YouTube Content ID claims on videos that utilize content that has been properly licensed on Productiontrax by a client, in a timely and efficient manner.

In the event that you are unable to satisfactorily remove content ID claims for your tracks, Productiontrax may take action as appropriate, in our sole discretion, including, but not limited to the following:

  1. Refunding the customer at your expense
  2. Removing your media from your account
  3. Permanently closing your account
  4. Seeking legal and financial remedy
