Light Contemporary
Light contemporary pop crosses lines with easy listening and adult contemporary music. While its fundamental basis is rhythm and blues based, light contemporary music is often sought out for romantic settings, background music because of its pleasant and light feeling. Light Contemporary music tends to be a little more exprimental than easy listening music taking a more "cutting edge" approach borrowed from jazz styles. The music of Richard Marx and Sade might fit well in this genre, though it is really a cop-out catch-all style heading for anything new and light.
