Cheryl is a Hamilton, Ontario based pianist, music instructor, vocalist, composer and recording artist featuring her debut album ”My Prayer”. Cheryl has dedicated her life to perfecting her craft and touching the lives of many through her music.
Cheryl’s musical journey began at age 7 when she began learning the piano. At the age of 8, she wrote her first song and at age 14 won her first composition award. Cheryl has always had a natural ability to compose music and to play piano by ear from a very young age but wisely augmented this skill set with an impressive path of credentials. She is classically trained in piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music, holds an Honours Diploma in Music majoring in Jazz Piano Performance from Mohawk College and an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from McMaster University. Cheryl also studied voice under the mentorship of Lita Classen and Melissa Shriner.
This solid foundation combined with a natural talent, and creative expression gives you a surburb sound and experience that you just can’t help but want to be a part of. Her melodic voice is pure and strong with a distinctive tone, rich texture and an extensive range. Her original songs are known for their raw, emotional lyrics overflowing with heartfelt honesty. Cheryl’s unique piano stylings combine her classical and jazz training with current and retro pop influences for a style that is all her own.
