Dylan studied music composition at UCLA with Mark Carlson and Ian
Krouse and conducting with Jeffrey Schindler. He received a certificate in
film and television music composition at UCLA Extension and has studied with
Robert Drasnin, Roger Neil, Craig Stuart-Garfinkle, and Lee Sanders. As a
composer, Dylan writes music of all styles and genres, from classical and jazz to
hip-hop and heavy metal.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dylan studied tuba with Doug
Tornquist and Tommy Johnson and is an accomplished player in a wide variety of
musical genres-classical, jazz, rock, and experimental. He has performed with
many artists including Dizzy Gillespie, Al Jareau, Wynton Marsalis, Aierto Moreira,
Andre Williams, James Ingram, and Henry Mancini. Additionally,
he has played for some of the most notable orchestral conductors of our time.
Dylan is unique on the rock tuba, having played with many
well-known artists and bands. As a band leader, guitarist, and lead singer,
he performed throughout Los Angeles with his rock/fusion band "Liberty".
Dylan is part of a rare breed of new composers who still hear music
differently. This is due in part to his mastery of multiple musical
instruments, both western and ethnic. He resides in Los Angeles, California.
Dylan has worked on projects for Warner Bros., and Warner Bros. Animation, Nu-Image, and Warner Home Video.
He has also been collaborating with his colleagues at The Sound Ranch and Sanders Music.
