Jeff Broadbent was born in Provo, Utah. He began his study and love of music at an early age, learning to play the piano and alto saxophone at the age of eight. Throughout his youth Jeff has received several music performance awards, including being selected to the California All-State Honor Band two years in a row and being an Oregon state saxophone solo finalist. Jeff studied at Brigham Young University, where he earned his B.M. and M.M. in music composition. During his time as a student Jeff received numerous composition scholarships, was awarded first place in the 2007 Vera Hinckley Mayhew music composition contest, and was selected twice as an intern for the prestigious Barlow Music Composition contest. Jeff is a skilled and versatile composer, having composed over 200 pieces in diverse genres including full orchestra, wind ensemble, chamber pieces, ambient, contemporary, techno, and more. With the ability to produce realistic electronic mockups or large scale works for live performers, Jeff's musical abilities can serve a variety of projects and budgets.
