Richard's music has appeared in Film & Television. Most recently in "The Real Face of Jesus" on The History Channel.
Born and raised in New York, Richard took to music at an early age; playing in bands throughout high school, and gigging in Manhattan Rock clubs by the age of 19.
After studying both Music and Economics at NYU, Richard spent several years as Studio Manager and Assistant Engineer at Dan Gralick Music & Sound. There, he assisted recording sessions for commercial jingles and Industrials.
Under his Singer/Songwriter alias MOONTAN, Richard has become a staple of New York City’s songwriter scene, having performed several hundred shows.
As MOONTAN, Richard has recorded two full length CDs. The first was produced by Zach McNees --- who has engineered for such artists as Bjork, Paul Simon and Rob Thomas. Moontan's most recent album, Odalisca, is a collection of self-produced instrumental “short stories”; 10 mysterious film score-esque moods.
