Sony Adds New HDV Camcorders to Professional Lineup
Enhance your project with new production equipment.

In February 2008, Sony announced the introduction of two new HDV camcorders, adding affordability and functionality to their already renowned professional lineup.  Whether you're creating a feature film, or producing stock footage content for the web, these new tools have the capabilities to become central to your production workflow.

Sony’s first HDV handheld camcorder, the HVR-Z7U, uses 1/3-inch bayonet mount interchangeable lenses. With a 45-degree rotated pixel layout, the 3 ClearVid CMOS Sensor systems offers sufficient pixel surface area while maintaining high resolution. Images will appear crisper, without the apparent "jaggies" that often plague video signals.   The HVR-Z7U comes standard with a 12x high-quality, multi-purpose Carl Zeiss lens for HD video, with a Vario-Sonnar T coating to reduce reflections. A specially designed 8x wide-angle lens is also available as an option.

Sony’s full-sized HVR-S270U Digital HD shoulder-mounted camcorder supports standard-size cassettes allowing for extended recording time.  Both camcorders offer professional functionality such as solid-state memory recording, an interchangeable lens system and native progressive recording. The HVR-S270U can also record directly to compact flash cards, via the camera's supplied memory recording unit. Combined with Sony's entire family of HDV products, the HVR-S270U is a great camcorder for almost any production, including documentaries, news, low-budget movies, music videos, and industrials.

The latest addition to Sony’s entry-level high definition VTR offerings is the NEW HVR-M35U HDV Video Recording Deck.  The product is used for recording and playback purpose and supports HDV indigenous advanced recording modes and HD or SD-SDI output including time code data and audio.
