Special Note from Dave
First, I just want to wish everyone a happy holiday season from the whole team here at Productiontrax.com. We've been working hard to make Productiontrax a premier marketplace for your production music, sound effects, photos, and footage. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we enter into a new phase of our development. As one of the first user-driven music libraries online, we know we still have a lot of work ahead!
2011 was a great year, and very busy behind the scenes, full of change and hard work. We know you can't always see that progress, but we can tell you that it is starting to pay off. After a long year of development, our API finally launched with our first network partner in Japan, AmanaImages, and the sales have begun coming in. Look for more in 2012 as we add more content distribution partners to our network. We've also been growing by leaps and bounds as a library, as we approach the 300,000 file mark, and we're about to quickly surpass that.
In light of this growth, to better serve both our contributors and our customers, we're planning some visual and UI updates to the site, as well as adding more features throughout 2012, ie stuff you can see. We're also stepping up our marketing game in 2012 to bring you more licensing opportunities and tons of new exposure. In fact, come visit us at SXSW in March at the OneLightMusic booth!
On a personal note, I also wanted to take a moment to invite you to contribute to a new project of mine, Cause.fm. Cause.fm is a music-for-charity platform that allows you to support the causes you believe in with your music. I thought that launching during the holiday season would be most appropriate.
As a performer and musician myself, I've often sought for the best way to use my music to make a difference, and I know a lot of you who have side projects or perform and record regularly with your bands feel the same. Over the past two years, I have been slowly developing Cause.fm in my spare time (I know, I'm a website startup junkie...) to give all artists and bands the opportunity to make money with their music while supporting their favorite causes all in one comprehensive, transparent site. I just opened the doors, so to speak, so please share your feedback, your music, and let's all use our talents to change the world.
You can check it out here: http://cause.fm
Enough shameless self promotion, though. We have an exciting year ahead here at Productiontrax.com!
Happy Holidays, and here's to a healthy, happy, and prosperous 2012 for us all!
